Kahuna Flare breaks new ground as a mid-level switcher, offering SD, HD and 1080p (level A and B).

Kahuna Flare ranges from 2 M/E to 4 M/E versions, all with a high capacity standard feature set supporting the needs of sport, news, light entertainment, houses of worship and general broadcast productions.

Kahuna Flare tightly integrates with a host of external equipment including routers, SloMo, servers, graphics and automated news production systems such as Mosart. Every M/E in the range has 4 keyers giving all the functionality that you need to create great TV. The keyer toolset supports linear/luma keying, chroma keying, resizers, 3D DVE effects and pre set masks.
The operation of Kahuna Flare is industry standard and follows a simple and logical philosophy familiar with any staff or freelance operator. Only Snell production switchers can offer FormatFusion3 on all inputs and outputs simultaneously. Kahuna Flare can accept SD legacy equipment and modern HD or 3G equipment into production. On the output side, Kahuna Flare can provide HD outputs for main transmission, progressive format signals for gallery and on set monitors plus SD for confidence checking, all timed together for a smooth and efficient operation and without the cost of outboard conversion equipment.

Fitted as standard the Kahuna Flare comes with an internal fully integrated 10 output clipstore. The clipstore outputs are unrestricted and can be assigned on to any bus. The clipstore supports up to 48 seconds of uncompressed video and is designed to provide animated wipe transitions that are easily programmed into a macro. The clipstore comes with a full editor to mark in and out points and can be used in parallel with cliptrax, an option that provides audio accompaniment for further increasing the impact of your productions.
