Video Devices have released updated v1.05 firmware for their Pix-E line of 5″ monitor / recorders which adds support for LUTs, and also enables Panasonic cameras (like the GH4, for example) to start or stop recording over HDMI. The firmware includes several LUTs as standard and will allow users to import new ones via SD card.
Firmware v 1.05 for Video Devices’ Pix-E allows you to compare how different LUTs look when applied to the camera image. This is a welcome addition to a well-built piece of hardware, and hopefully Video Devices will continue this trend with more features in the future. It’s certainly a vey competitive market out there for camera-top recorders at the moment. Top of most useful features to add next would be downconversion of a 4K signal to HD to send to client or director monitors…
The new firmware can be downloaded from the Video Devices site now.
