Sony has announced that seven of it cameras have joined Netflix’s Post Technology Alliance, a programme designed to give filmmakers confidence that equipment meets Netflix's technical and workflow requirements, while also offering the highest level of innovation, support and customer service.
Four digital motion picture cameras from Sony's CineAlta range join the programme, including the next generation full frame motion picture camera system VENICE, currently being used by James Cameron to shoot the Avatar sequels. CineAlta by Sony is the choice for directors and DPs who refuse to compromise their personal artistic vision and want to create emotion in every frame. The additional CineAlta cameras getting into Netflix´s Post Technology Alliance are the compact and versatile F55, the F65 with its Super 35mm 8K CMOS sensor and 8K capabilities, and the flexible 4K camera PMW-F5.
Furthermore, Sony's Super 35mm professional camcorder FS7 II, offering an incomparable shooting experience and high customisation options, as well as the state-of-the-art live production HDC-4300 4K/HD system camera, have also joined the programme. Last but not least, the world’s first 4K HDR shoulder camera, the PXW-Z450 with its 4K HDR 2/3-type CMOS sensor, is now also part of Netflix’s Post Technology Alliance.
"At Sony, our mission is to provide filmmakers with the technology they need to go make tomorrow and wow audiences across the world," commented Sebastian Leske, Product Manager, Sony Professional Solutions Europe. "All of our cameras have been designed with the needs of modern filmmakers in mind and we are thrilled to have seven of our most popular and innovative cameras join Netflix's Post Technology Alliance."
