NewTek have released Advanced Edition 3, the latest software update for the TriCaster 8000, 860, 460, 410 and Mini, with special introductory pricing running until 22nd March. The list of new features includes touchscreen support, so you can switch an entire show on a tablet, and express mode, which reduces a lot of the detailed interface down into a handful of buttons, meaning the best part of a sophisticated productions system can easily be operated by anyone.
With Advanced Edition 3, your TriCaster will be able to support up to 8 or 12 simultaneous external inputs (depending on which model you have), all with full support for NDI. You'll also get NDI support on up to four video mix inputs, and you'll be able to configure external inputs for any combination of local or IP video sources. If you're working with PTZ cameras, then you'll be able to control a different camera from each and every input.
If you're using the TriCaster 460 or higher, you'll get access to a full-motion composition engine that can produce sophisticated compositions and DVE-style motion sequences, and support advanced configuration, positioning, keyframing, and effects.
Advanced Edition 3 introduces the ability to live stream to multiple destinations, including presets for Facebook Live, Microsoft Azure, Periscope, Twitch, and YouTube Live. You can share media through multiple user accounts on the same social network, and even export content to more online communities, including Imgur, LinkedIn, Vid.me, and Vimeo.
For live broadcasts, Advanced Edition 3 adds support for more switcher-accessible sources and overlays, and five extra animation buffers for animated effects, motion graphics, and video loops. There are also augmented reality options available in LiveSet.
If you purchased your TriCaster Advanced system or Advanced Edition software in the last 12 months, you can get Advanced Edition 3 as a free upgrade (you should have received an email from NewTek detailing how to do this). If you purchase before 22nd March, you're eligible for early bird pricing, meaning you can upgrade from Advanced Edition 1 or 2 with discount.
