Recently, Litepanels released the brand new Gemini 1x1 Soft panel. Now in the 1x1 form factor, this light's design is based on its Gemini 2x1 predecessor. So, what Litepanels Gemini 1x1 is like too: brand new LED panel or just a new packaging for old friend.

The Gemini 1x1 Soft is a bicolor LED that ranges from 2700K to 6000K in CCT mode. It also includes three Color Modes: HSI, GEL mode, and RGBW. The light is flicker free at any frame rate—perfect to use with high-speed cameras—making it even more versatile.

The lights will ship with the medium diffusion panel shown here, but there will also be light and heavy diffusion panels available, as well as an optional intensifier. A full line of accessories, including barn doors and soft boxes, will also be available soon.

Another way to use this light is to combine multiple 1x1 Gemini Softs together to create a larger source. Two combiner kits will be available with yokes—one will connect two Gemini units side by side, and the other will combine four units in a square configuration. As I mention in the video, you can then set them into Master/Slave mode. Each light will need to be plugged into a power source, but you can set one as a master and the others as replicas so that one light will control both (or all four). Connecting the units can be done with either XLR or RJ45 cables.
