Vocas Product announced a new top plate for the RED V-RAPTOR XL 8K camera. The top plate can be ordered alone or together with the Vocas universal sliding top handle. Let’s have a closer look.
If you are not familiar with the company, Vocas Products is a Dutch manufacturer founded in 1994, specializing in high-end camera accessory products for cine-style cameras from ARRI, RED, Sony and Canon.
They are known for their high-end designs of the Vocas matte boxes, together with the patented Vocas matte box eyebrows, follow-focus systems, and many different support and rig systems like the Vocas sliding system – a smart way to mount cameras to different setups while balancing the camera.
Top plate for the RED V-RAPTOR XL 8K camera
The newly announced top plate for the RED V-RAPTOR XL 8K camera is a massive support system, made for the large and studio-oriented flagship RED camera. Composed of aluminum and stainless steel, it has an integrated level marker and many industry-standard 3/8” and 1/4” threaded holes all around the plate to mount your additional equipment.
Universal sliding top handle
When combined with the Vocas universal sliding top handle, it allows you to make adjustments along the length of the camera body so the camera always stays well-balanced, regardless of the weight distribution on the front and rear of the setup.
The handle has a beautiful, walnut handgrip, which allows for a more organic and ergonomic feel when you grab the camera. Many operators prefer wooden handgrips, although they are a bit pricy compared to aluminum and stainless steel handles.
The handle is also equipped with a lot of 1/4″ and 3/8″ threaded holes for mounting additional camera accessories. Vocas has created several compatible accessories to extend the length or to mount extra gear in front of the handle.
The top plate as well as the kit with the top plate and the universal sliding top for the RED V-RAPTOR XL 8K camera is now available for ordering. To purchase them contact your local distributor.
