Spanish broadcast equipment manufacturer AEQ unveiled new and updated solutions during NAB 2023. This includes stationary, double, full duplex stereo IP audiocodec VENUS 4 and cloud-based audiocodec system SMARTALK with link generation and forwarding to Phoenix audiocodecs.
SMARTALK allows a simple connection between a sporadic or regular participant in a program, from their PC, tablet or smartphone, and the Phoenix audiocodec designated in the studio, without the need to install any application or enter a username and password, simply with a direct web-link, which the station sends by the most comfortable via: either by email, WhatsApp, QR image, text link or several at the same time. Audio is sent bi-directionally in high-quality, low-delay stereo format with OPUS encoding.
VENUS 4: AUDIOCODEC IP STATIONARY DOUBLE STEREO FULL DUPLEX
VENUS 4 and VENUS 4 + can be used for point-to-point links, or point-to-multipoint, stands out for having IP connectivity and two simultaneous bidirectional stereo transmissions with different formats and qualities. It also has SIP protocol and NB/ACIP standard of the EBU, as well as OPUS algorithms, configuration aid tools and remote control.
There are two hardware versions of Venus 4: one with front control panel and another more basic, with status indicators of networks and communications. Both have analogue inputs and outputs balanced by XLR connectors and dedicated connectors for AES/EBU digital I/O. Triple network port, dual RS232 data auxiliary link. Available versions with redundant power supply, 48 volt DC supplies and local audio inputs and outputs by IP DANTE / AES 67.
Control via the Control Phoenix app.
There is a friendly graphic window for configuration and another operation window that allows us to work with it as if we were facing a front control panel, choosing coding modes, connection modes and establishing or ending calls.
ATRIUM: DIGITAL IP AUDIO CONSOLE FOR RADIO AND TV BROADCAST AND PRODUCTION
ATRIUM is a digital audio mixer specially designed for production and broadcast of audio on radio and television, in work environments with higher operational requirements. It handles up to 1000 channels of local or IP audio, controllable through one or several surfaces, each with up to more than 90 motorised and pageable faders.
It presents great simplicity of operation through a powerful set of touch screens, encoders, indicators and keys, which are pre-configured according to the needs, and that dynamically adapt their function to the context, avoiding unnecessary steps, and always keeping the precise information in sight, so that the operation is simple and safe.
It includes the advantages that technology puts at our disposal at the moment: The new X_CORE engine that incorporates ATRIUM, can be shared securely between up to 6 consoles, since it carries tools to develop redundancy capacity at all levels. It accepts and delivers audio in the most varied formats used today in audio and television production.
In addition, it has memories for storage and instant retrieval of scenes, and processes. The automation of the mixture with the autogain and automix functions avoids the need for intensive and precise handling of the faders. It incorporates an extensive set of audio processing functions. On the other hand, there is a virtual console application on PC for remote control and facilitate maintenance.
All this configures a mixing and audio processing system that allows to develop very complex works with great precision and quality both in production and radio and television broadcast.
NOW: ATRIUM CAN INCLUDE XC24 V3 AND XC34 V3 CARDS FOR FIBER OPTIC CONNECTIONS
The new XC24 V3 card incorporates 64 redundant ports of IP audio in DANTE / AES67 formats, and through Dante Domain Manager, also SMPTE 2110-30. The novelty of this card is that in addition to the 1000base T ethernet connectivity, it incorporates cages for SFP cartridges, which can be equipped with different fiber optic transceivers with a range of more than 100 km, depending on type.
The new XC34 V3 card incorporates 128 redundant IP audio ports in RAVENNA / AES67 formats, and also SMPTE 2110-30 and SMPTE 2110-31, with NMOS control. The novelty of this card is that in addition to the 1000base T ethernet connectivity, it incorporates cages for SFP cartridges, which can be equipped with different fiber optic transceivers with a range of more than 100 km, depending on type.
