Leader Electronics Europe has announced that enhancements to its state-of-the-art 4K test and measurement technology will be previewed at BSC Expo 2024 in London's Battersea Evolution, 15-17 February.
Mission Digital (stand 206) will be showcasing a new Leader 'real-time' false color exposure tool for ARRI and RED cameras on the LV5350 ZEN Series 12G/3G/HD/SD-SDI waveform monitor.
A highly experienced IT and digital dailies service provider, Mission uses Leader test instruments to support its SDR and HDR on-set DIT, lab and DI activity.
The Leader LV5350 will also be used by Sony (stand 247) in an on-set DIT configuration with Sony’s new BURANO compact full-frame 8K cinema camera.
"The LV5350 has become a de-facto standard for many DITs, film production companies and OB service providers since its introduction in 2018 as part of our flagship ZEN Series," said Kevin Salvidge, Sales Engineering & Technical Marketing Manager at Leader Europe. "Leader test instruments incorporate the tools needed to detect, analyze and correct errors from the commencement of a shoot. That is much more efficient and professional than expecting postproduction colleagues to make adjustments at later stages. It is also safer than relying on cloud links when working on location beyond the reach of reliable IP connectivity."
Capable of mains or battery operation, the Leader LV5350 is a compact 3U high half-rack-width short-depth unit. Widely used in the digital film and high-end broadcast sector, it provides all the SDI facilities of Leader’s top-of-the-range LV5600 waveform monitor and LV7600 rasterizer. These include engineering-related features such as test pattern generation, closed-caption monitoring and CIE chroma chart. All features are accessible from the front control panel, augmented by a 1920 x 1080 resolution 7-inch touchscreen TFT LCD monitor.
Optional features for the LV5350 include 4K/UHD HDR support, SDI-embedded audio analysis, SDI signal generation, CIE chroma chart, customized display layout, tally display, extended chroma vector display and closed-caption display. Also available is a focus detection algorithm which enables the instrument to sense edges across a very wide range of image contrast levels.
