Orban has added to its portfolio with the OPTIMOD 8700i LT Audio Processor, a light version of the flagship OPTIMOD 8700i. It offers the five-band and two-band processing of the 8700i and supports both analog FM transmission and digital media including DAB+, HD radio and streaming.
The 8700i LT provides features such as the Multipath Mitigator phase corrector which can reduce multipath distortion without compromising the stereo separation, and the Subharmonic Synthesizer which allows you to add modern-sounding bass punch to older recordings. With the dual redundant power supplies and safety bypass relays, the 8700i LT ensures 24/7 operation is guaranteed.
Like the 8700i, the 8700i LT includes Orban’s MX limiter technology which lowers distortion, improves transient punch, and minimises pre-emphasis-induced high frequency loss. Additional features include a digital MPX output, an ITU BS-412 multiplex power control, an ITU-R BS.1770-3+ loudness control and a built-in RDS Encoder.
“With the 8700i LT we can combine the outstanding features and processing of the 8700i with an outstanding price from which first and foremost our customers benefit,” said David Day, President, Orban.
Orban also offers an upgrade option with which the 8700i LT can be transformed later into a fully-featured 8700i. This upgrade includes a dual-redundant Dante AoIP interface with full AES67 support and a Streaming Monitor output. Additionally, the Xponential Loudness algorithm will be added which brings hyper-compressed music back to life, revealing detail and increasing impact, while reducing listening fatigue and distortion.
The 8700i LT is available for delivery from next month. With the introduction of the 8700i LT, the company’s OPTIMOD 8600 has been discontinued.
