PRO TV has invested in eight HDC-3500 camera chains that will be used for live entertainment and sports productions, working with HDCU-3100, the IP enabled Camera Control Unit. They also have chosen the PXW-Z280 and PXW-Z150 camcorders for their mainstream and local studio productions, alongside Sony’s dual channel UWP wireless microphone packages.
Leading a new generation of powerful yet cost-effective system cameras from Sony, the HDC-3500, unveiled at IBC 2018, features the world's first 2/3-inch 4K global shutter three CMOS sensor system. Developed to meet the demands of modern live production, it offers content creators uncompromised premium picture quality together with unprecedented operational flexibility and reliability.
While the camera chains will be deployed initially for standard HD production, the HDC-3500 futureproofs PRO TV's investment with a smooth upgrade path to 4K/HD HDR operation. Building on the capabilities of Sony’s established HDC-2000 series, the HDC-3500 supports HD, HDR and 4K as well as IP capabilities. It also provides Sony's ‘SR Live for HDR’ workflow, enabling simultaneous HDR and SDR production with just one production team.
"We are delighted that PRO TV is the first European broadcast customer for the HDC-3500. We have a long-term relationship with PRO TV and are proud to help them upgrade their technology and Go Make Tomorrow," commented Norbert Paquet, Head of Product Management, Sony Professional Solutions Europe. "There's already been tremendous enthusiasm around this new camera from Europe's broadcast community. We look forward to confirming further commitments from other broadcasters and content creators very soon."
PRO TV is part of the CME media and entertainment company, which operates leading businesses in four Central and Eastern European markets, with an aggregate population of more than 40 million people.
