Snell Advanced Media (SAM) has announced its key themes for IBC2017. At the show, the company will demonstrate its IP and remote production solutions, UHD sports production workflows with HDR support, cloud-based playout, multi-format news production and automated monitoring and control products.
Cloud
SAM will demonstrate live channel deployment on AWS. With the launch of the latest ICE SDC, customers can rapidly spin up/down fully featured channels. ICE SDC builds on the functionality of its Channel-in-a-Box sibling. SAM's continued investment in cloud solutions has delivered an expanded portfolio of products that include Alchemist conversion and Multiviewers.
IP production
A range of turnkey IP routing solutions featuring SMPTE 2110 support will be available at IBC2017, as well as SAM's native IP products including multiviewers, processing systems, production and master control switchers featuring 25, 50 and 100GbE interfaces.
Remote production over IP
SAM's technology was successfully deployed between Poland and London by UEFA for the first uncompressed UHD remote production, which took place during the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship Final earlier this year. The match was held in Poland and SAM delivered an ultra-low latency IP system delivering remote production capability back to the production centre in London.
SAM Vibe
SAM Vibe allows a single production team to create content from any device and for any device; mobile, tablet, laptop and TV, regardless of aspect ratio, resolution or frame rate. Vibe provides collaborative/shared workflows all enabled by Go!, SAM's HTML5 browser-based editing system, working alongside the Rio editor.
UHD sports production with HDR
SAM's Alchemist XS complements the UHD/HDR capabilities of the Kahuna production switchers and LiveTouch multi-format replay system. The products enable multi-format live production and replay with any resolution content across IP, SDI and 12G-SDI domains.
