The XT4K, EVS’ first dedicated UHD-4K live production server, will be added to ES Broadcast Hire’s already-extensive UHD hire fleet and joins the company’s other EVS solutions, which include XHub3 network hubs and XFile3 file transfer and archiving solution alongside multiple EVS XT3 live production servers. Some of ES Broadcast Hire’s servers are configured in ChannelMAX, which lets users easily expand the channel density of their XT3s when needed.
The purchase of the servers is part of ES Broadcast Hire’s significant investment into 4K production workflows, as the service provider supports the drive towards further UHD adoption in the live production market with its hire fleet of 4K equipment – already one of the biggest in Europe. Its XT4Ks will be made immediately available to its hire customers alongside other 4K live production solutions and used for multiple live programs including UHD sports and entertainment events.
ES Broadcast Hire’s new XT4K servers will be twinned with Sony HDC-4300 and HDC-P43 high frame rate UHD cameras, which allow operators to produce the latest in UHD slow motion replays.
“EVS solutions lead the market – especially with the company’s technological advances in production servers,” said Warren Taggart, managing director of ES Broadcast Hire. “The EVS name is synonymous with reliable, cutting-edge live solutions, so we’re delighted to be taking delivery of these XT4K servers. Having them in our hire fleet will enable us to continue our commitment to providing the very best 4K equipment.”
