LYNX Technik AG, provider of modular interfaces, announces the introduction of a new SDI Quad-Split yellobrik at IBC 2015. The new Quad-Split yellobrik (model: PMV 1841) is a compact, portable quad-split processor that supports the display of 4x 3G/HD/SDI-SDI inputs on a single HDMI display. In addition to its quad-split capabilities, this new unit includes an integrated 4K down converter, for applications that require 4K (12G, quad-link) HDMI monitoring.
This solution is ideal for monitoring multiple 3G, HD, and SD-SDI feeds as well as 4K monitoring. Its compact size and affordable price combined with advanced overlay features makes this an ideal solution for broadcast, outside broadcast, production and post-production monitoring requirements.
The yellobrik quad-split, coupled with an HDMI monitor, is an affordable way to display, view, and monitor multiple SDI signals. Powerful monitoring features (typically only found in large multiview systems) are unique for such a compact self-contained quad split module.
Each SDI input has the following overlays available (user configurable):
– Waveform monitor and Vectorscope
– 16 character IMD (text ID)
– 4, 8 or full 16 channel audio metering
– Input video format
– Timecode
– Safe area / 4:3 extraction and center cross markers
– Video and audio alarm indicators
All controls are located on the quad-split itself. Module settings are easily configured on the HDMI output using a rotary control and on-screen menu. The PMV 1841 is also yelloGUI compatible, allowing for remote configuration and control, as well as storing and restoring settings using a PC or MAC via the module’s USB port.
The HDMI output can be configured to display quad-split or full screen display of any of the 4 inputs. In 4K monitoring mode, the 4 x SDI inputs (12G) are stitched together into a single image and then down converted for display on the connected HDMI monitor. The overlay features are not available in 4K mode.
