Zylight, a leading manufacturer of innovative LED lightingsolutions, has announced its new F8-200 LED Fresnel and Newz on-camera LED light at IBC2015. The F8-200 is designed for location shoots or studio installations, while the compact Newz is built for broadcast news and other run-and-gun shooting applications.
Built on the same chassis as Zylight’s award-winning F8-100, the F8-200 collapses to less than five inches thick for easy transport and is water resistant (IP54) for use in challenging conditions. It delivers the brightness of a 2,000-watt Tungsten or 400-watt HMI fixture, but can be powered by AC or two 14.4V standard Gold Mount or V-Mount batteries.
Available in tungsten (3200K) or daylight (5600K) versions, the F8-200 has a high CRI (color rendering index) as well as a high TLCI (Television Lighting Consistency Index). It features a patented focusing system for spot and flood operations, with an adjustable beam spread (16-70 degrees) and eight-inch SCHOTT glass lens for single shadow traditional Fresnel beam shaping. The F8-200 ships with barn doors and yoke mount.
Also new at IBC, the Newz on-camera LED light delivers a soft but punchy light with brightness settings from tungsten to daylight. Its proprietary LED matrix helps deliver true color reproduction similar to the company’s F8 product line. The dimmable white light also features a unique articulated arm design and custom barn doors for easy height and angle adjustments. An optional hot shoe accessory will also be available, so DSLR shooters can take advantage of the light’s strobe functionality.
“It’s not enough to just deliver brightness. Our customers are looking for refined, natural light that doesn’t draw a lot of power and doesn’t generate a lot of heat,” said Joe Arnao, president of Zylight. “Our new F8-200 makes location shooting a lot brighter and a lot cooler, and our Newz on-camera light sets a new standard for ENG lighting quality.”
