Aldea Solutions, provider of video networking services, has chosen Ateme’s Kyrion CM5000 encoders to stream the Pan American Games to its customers throughout the Americas.
The Kyrion encoder has been designed for low latency streaming over fibre, OTT and satellite networks, with fast-boot, main screen and ABR outputs, and integrated Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ). It is based on Ateme’s fifth generation Stream compression engine, which delivers high video quality at minimum bitrates using ultra-low latency. The Kyrion CM5000 is a future-proof solution, the company claims, with an HEVC software upgradeable option.
“The Pan American games is a high profile event, carried by leading TV broadcasters throughout the Americas,” said Lionel Bentolila, CEO of Aldea. “The Ateme Kyrion ensures high quality and guaranteed-proven interoperability with various decoders and transcoders used by our customers.”
“The Kyrion has become a synonym for major sports event distribution,” added Rémi Beaudouin vice president of marketing at Ateme. “The Kyrion encoders are streaming thousands of hours of sporting events worldwide, from baseball, soccer, regional games, to the Olympics. With the Kyrion ultra low latency and high video quality, viewers are truly ‘living’ the event.”
