RTS will introduce the new OMNEO technology during NAB. This will be the biggest new from RTS in the last 15 years.
OMNEO is an audio communication protocol which provides for high-quality multichannel audio transmission and powerful, reliable system control via standard Ethernet IP networks. It enables the development of audio products capable of cooperating and exchanging audio signals using industry-standard IP digital network equipment.
OMNEO is for professional AV applications where high quality, reliable and secure communications and control are required for networks of up to 10,000 devices.
OMNEO will be compliant with public standards when appropriate pro media networking standards, such as AVB, become available. OMNEO is an AVB compatible low latency IP based media networking technology that provides the ultimate in device interconnectivity. Two-part media networking architecture that provides both program transport and system control for professional media networking applications. It operates over standard Ethernet networks, and will be fully compliant with emerging standards.
OMNEO has two main components: an audio program transport protocol suite that offers low-latency, high-quality multichannel audio stream exchange; and a robust control protocol suite that provides reliable and secure system control for pro networks of all sizes, from small to intercontinental.
RTS is firmly committed to using and supporting open public standards and offering fully interoperable systems.
RTS parent company Bosch Security Systems and Audinate developed OMNEO as a future open public pro media networking solution that will be compliant with emerging program transport standards such as AVB, and with emerging system control standards as they are announced. OMNEO's program transport will be based on RTP, a widely adopted IP streaming protocol. RTS will introduce its first generation of OMNEO-compatible intercom matrix products at NAB-2013.
