Sony announced firmware update v1.1 for pan/tilt/zoom camera FR7. It expands the range of potential applications by allowing control of compatible Sony cameras via Ethernet using S700PTP protocol.
   

This allows the FR7 to be controlled from Sony’s Remote Control Panel (RCP) and Master Setup Unit (MCU) devices, providing high-level control in multi-camera systems that combine the FR7 with Sony’s BRC series PTZ cameras and system cameras.

Benefits and Improvements FR7 v1.1 firmware

• Adds support for the following:

   - Remote Control Panel: RCP-1500/1501, RCP-1530, RCP-3100, RCP-3500/3501

   - Master setup unit: MSU-1000, MSU-1500, MSU-3000, MSU-3500

   - Camera Remote Control Software: HZC-RCP5, HZC-CSM10

• Adds support for the recording and playback functions when power is supplied by PoE++

• Adds support the following GENLOCK input reference signals: 1920x1080 24.00P and 1920x1080 23.98P
