AJA Video Systems helps dock10 produce SDR and HDR content remotely

One of the leading media content production facilities of the UK, dock10, has a technology pipeline that is part of every project and includes AJA FS-HDR real-time HDR/WCG converter/frame synchronizers to prepare UltraHD HDR and HD SDR content for live transmission. This device helped facilitate simultaneous live HDR and SDR coverage for sports tournaments this past summer.

Dalet updates its Dalet Flex platform to increase efficiency and collaboration

Dalet, has recently announced updates for Dalet Flex, its media logistics platform, aimed to enhance functional coverage and continuity for content preparation packaging, and delivery.

ATEME adds HDR10+ metadata support to live transcoders

ATEME has added support for the HDR10+ metadata in its Titan Live transcoders, which it says is a world first. Previously, HDR10+ metadata has only been available for non-live content such as VoD. The technology optimises brightness and maximises the contrast ratio, making bright areas brighter and dark areas darker.

Time For Compression?

As more broadcasters move to IP the thorny issue of video compression is once again raising its head. But could the implementation of compression be a positive change? I believe there are two parts to consider when discussing video compression: we are already doing compression and have been since the 1930s, and compression has come a long way in recent years.

Mediaset deploys Panasonics Kairos for live IP workflows

Broadcaster Mediaset has deployed Panasonics next generation live production platform Kairos to support live IP workflows at its Light Studio facility in Milan. According to Panasonic, the Kairos Core 1000 future-proofs the studio with the ability to support legacy SDI while also integrating into the its ST 2110 infrastructure.

ATEME launches sustainable UHD encoder

ATEME has launched the CM5000e, its new-generation Kyrion encoder for UHD contribution in a sustainable manner. The encoder offers UHD remuxing and satellite or IP outputs in a single device, eliminating the need for additional hardware. CM5000e has been built with sustainability in mind, consuming less power, thus reducing its carbon footprint and increasing its green credentials for adopters.

Lectrosonics Wireless Designer Software Now Compatible with the DCR822 Portable Dual Channel Digital Receiver

Lectrosonics is pleased to announce that their venerable Wireless Designer frequency coordination and RF system management software for Mac or PC is now updated for use with the DCR822 dual channel portable digital receiver. This will allow DCR822 users to monitor all channels in operation, change settings, initiate infrared data transfers, manage frequency groups, scan the local RF spectrum, and calculate system operating frequencies using the Frequency Coordination Engine. Wireless Designer Versions 2.0.30 for macOS and 2.0.34 for Windows are now available with these features for the 822.

Sony launches 8.6K VENICE 2

Following the success of the original VENICE, Sony has added to the line with the 8.6K VENICE 2. Although it looks similar to the original 6K camera, and retains the same user interface, the VENICE 2 is smaller and lighter than the original, having placed the features of the AXS-R7 within the camera body, enabling internal recording of X-OCN and ProRes 4444 and 422HQ without requiring the external device.

Mike Jacobs, Head of Professional Services at Cinegy will also participate in a panel discussion at the show; the session entitled Cloud-based Workflows what IP can do for production of content takes place on Saturday 4 December.
