Sony FE 35mm F1.4 G Master Lens Announced

After being rumored for a couple of months, Sony has introduced their latest FE 35mm F1.4 GM lens designed for full-frame E-mount cameras. The newcomer has a compact form factor while weighing in at just 18.5 oz (524 grams). When paired with an APS-C/Super 35 sensor, it becomes a 52.5mm equivalent. Like the other G Master counterparts, the body of the Sony FE 35mm F1.4 is dust and moisture resistant.

     
     
 
Fujifilm Launches Fujinon Premista 19-45mm Lens

Fujifilm has unveiled its new Fujinon Premista 19-45mm T2.9-inch lens, a wide-angle zoom lens that supports large-format sensors and can deliver high resolution, bokeh and tonal images with HDR. Fujifilm will officially release the Premista 19-45mm lens on Jan. 28.

Fujifilm Announces eXtended Data Firmware Update Available for FUJINON Premista Series

FUJIFILM North America Corporation is pleased to announce the availability of a ZEISS eXtended Data firmware update for the FUJINON Premista Series lenses. The 28-100mm T2.9 and the 80-250mm T2.9-3.5 can now be updated at any Fujifilm Optical Devices Service Center. The early 2021 delivery of the much anticipated Premista 19-45mm T2.9 will ship with full eXtended Data functionality.

     
     
 
XenData Ships Two New Media Archive Appliances

XenData has launched the X20 and X40 Appliances, a pair of new products that manage a robotic LTO library and provide from 300TB to multiple petabytes of network storage. Designed to manage LTO libraries from a wide range of manufacturers, including Dell, HPE, IBM, Overland Storage, Qualstar, Quantum and Spectra Logic, the appliances allow file-based applications to archive seamlessly to LTO cartridges, the company said.

Bosveld Stereo Moves To IP With Calrec Type R For Radio

South African community radio station Bosveld Stereo, which broadcasts in Afrikaans across the North West Province, is the first station in South Africa to deploy Calrec’s IP-based Type R for Radio. Broadcaster used Type R’s modular approach to create the ideal system for own needs: a Type R for Radio core plus two hardware fader panels and one large soft panel. The system can be accessed remotely, which is crucial in today’s Covid-19 environment. Using AoIP (Dante), the audio is transported to the transmitter.
