High Frame Rates: the final piece in the Ultra HD jigsaw?

Under the broad banner of Ultra HD we have seen the commercial introduction of many improvements in video technology in recent years. Spatial resolution (4K), wide colour gamut (WCG), high dynamic range (HDR) and next-generation audio (NGA) all now feature regularly in consumer devices such as TVs, streamers and set-top boxes, as well as in services delivered by OTT providers and, albeit to a lesser extent, in linear broadcasts.

RIST and SRT: Whats the difference?

As more broadcasters are looking to use the internet and the Cloud to contribute and distribute live video, transport protocols such as RIST and SRT are becoming increasingly important. However, at the same time, there is growing confusion surrounding them, with many believing the different protocols to be essentially the same. This makes it difficult for broadcasters to determine what they need and often leads them to making the wrong choice. So, what is the difference and when and why does it matter?
