First impression: Panasonic Kairos IT/IP Centric Live Video Processing Platform

Panasonic is basically redesigning how video production is done. Rather than limit keyers, MEs, and outputs, Kairos is just pure processing power. So it can handle however many layers, inputs and outputs as the GPU and CPU can take. The world of video is changing. In many ways things are becoming simpler, as they become more complicated. If you were to take all the knowledge of video: speeds, frame rates, connectors, resolutions and put it in a blender to make a smoothie, you would have the Panasonic Kairos.

     
     
 
RTS Serbia build complete broadcast solution with Panasonic AK-HC5000GSJ 2/3" HD studio cameras

Panasonic has supplied the Serbian public TV broadcaster RTS with a professional system of studio cameras which consists of 30 sets of AK-HC5000GSJ cameras, with Camera Control Unit AK-UCU500ESJ, Remote Control Panel AK-HRP1000GJ and two models of viewfinders AK-HVF70GJ and AG-CVF15G.

Tokyo-based leading expert in motion picture and multimedia broadcasting production NTV Technical Resources Inc (NiTRo) is a major technical provider to the Japanese broadcasting industry with a range of media services, including production engineering, postproduction and broadcast operations and management. Following the launch of 8K broadcast channels in Japan in December 2018, NiTRo broke ground on a new state-of-the-art facility for 8K/UltraHD2 post-production in response to a surge in client requests for editing and delivery of 8K content.

     
     
 
HD BROADCAST Chooses Leader LV5600 Waveform Monitors

Television production service provider HD BROADCAST has invested in six Leader LV5600 waveform monitors for installation in its new UHD OB2 outside broadcast production vehicle. The instruments will be used to ensure precise matching of incoming signal feeds and to maintain the highest possible video and audio signal quality through to the transmitted output. units were supplied by Leader Europe distribution partner LOGIC Media Solutions.

     
     
 
Cinegy Releases Multiviewer 15.2

Cinegy GmbH has announced it is releasing a new version of its Cinegy Multiviewer platform, version 15.2. Cinegy Multiviewer 15.2 is designed for use both on-premise and for remote monitoring applications. It can display and analyze signals from satellites, camera feeds, playout devices and other local or remote sources, raising alerts for detected signal problems. The video streams can be received over IP, eg UDP/RTP, NDI, SRT via Ethernet or using standard SDI cards.

Ateme begins negotiations to acquire OTT and IPTV software provider, Anevia

Ateme has entered exclusive negotiations to acquire 87 per cent of OTT and IPTV software provider, Anevia. The transaction, which has received the prior unanimous support of the boards of directors of both companies, is expected to be completed before the end of Q3 2020. The combination of the two companies would create a major player in video broadcasting infrastructure, with a combined revenue of more than ?80 million.

     
     
 
Arena Television Selects Sony To Enhance OB17

Arena Television, an independent outside broadcast facilities firm and long-standing Sony customer, has selected the Sony XVS-8000 multi-format video switcher to integrate with its new OB17 truck. The OB17 is one of Europe's largest OB vehicles at 16.5 metres long and weighing 32 tonnes with twin full-length expanding sides. The multi-format switcher will allow the Arena Television fleet to facilitate a wide range of HDR and SDR productions.

     
     
 
Panasonic introduces AK-UC3300 4K studio camera

Panasonic has introduced the AK-UC3300 4K studio camera, offering high sensitivity and vivid colour reproduction for use in broadcast, and production. The camera has a large 11-megapixel 4K image sensor to achieve a horizontal and vertical resolution of 2,000 TV lines. According to the company, it offers support from various interfaces, including 12G-SDI output, TICO over SDI (4K over 3G-SDI output) and SMPTE ST 2110.

     
     
 
Automated HDR to SDR Conversion

LYNX Technik, the provider of modular signal processing interfaces, has announced that HDR Evie+ is now available for its greenMachine platform. LYNX Technik’s HDR Suite of Processing Solutions (HDR Evie+, HDR Evie, HDR Static) for the greenMachine platform addresses the challenge that broadcasters and content creators are facing when there is a need to broadcast or archive content in both SDR and HDR.
