BRIO Gets A Boost With New Expansion Packs

Calrec Audio is giving its Brio audio console a boost in channel count. New expansion packs are now available that increase the Brio12 DSP count from 48 to 64 input channels and the Brio36 from 64 to 96 input channels.

     
     
 
Actus Digital’s solution powered in South Australian Parliament

South Australian Parliament Chooses Actus Digital For Video Clips. System can record video streams, monitor content and create, edit and distribute clips. Journalists, members of the South Australian Parliament and their assistants have been required to be able to monitor sessions of parliament, search or create video clips. To satisfy this new requirement, Actus Digital has been installed.

     
     
 
ProSiebenSat.1 launches ultra-HD broadcasting

German-based media company ProSiebenSat.1 Group is set to start broadcasting in 4K UHD and HDR formats from late summer 2018. The company will broadcast the first episodes of Galileo Spezial and Rosins Restaurants in the ultra-high resolution UHD (4K) format with HDR. Viewers will be able to access the UHD content on ProSiebenSat.1's linear channels as well as its digital offerings.

New Features and Capabilities to the Sony VENICE Full-Frame Motion Picture Camera System

Sony is announcing new updates and developments for its VENICE CineAlta motion picture camera system including version 2 firmware, which has been advanced and will now be available in the beginning of July 2018. Version 2 Firmware Includes Dual Base High ISO 2500, Variable Frame Rates; and Optional Upgrade to Support High Frame Rate. Sony is announcing the development of its new VENICE Extension System designed for expanded flexibility and enhanced ergonomics.

     
     
 
Fujinon unveiled OptMag TL-OMFF Super-35 image circle expander

Fujinon has announced the OptMag TL-OMFF, an optical adaptor that expands the Super-35 image circle of PL Mount lenses on Full Frame sensor cameras without vignetting. The OptMag TL-OMFF has been developed specifically for use with Fujinon’s Premier and Cabrio PL-mount lenses. It’s unclear whether it will work on other PL lenses.

Mediaset chooses Actus Digital for clips creation

Mediaset, Italy’s largest private group in the Media and Telecom sector, owns and operates several commercial TV channels as well as a number of Newspapers, magazines and major websites. Its Videotime division is responsible for capturing and distributing video content to the various Media channels which are associated with it. As part of its modernization, Mediaset Videotime wished to establish a video content management system with a capacity of 60 TV channels, as well as HD camera feeds coming from live interviews at Videotime’s studios. Video Progetti was selected as system integrator and Actus Digital’s system was chosen following a comprehensive evaluation.

     
     
 
HDR: Getting high-resolution standards to cooperate is the challenge

To date, we’ve discussed many of the technical aspects of HDR, including brightness and color gamut. Now it’s time to discuss how we get the signal to the viewer so that they can enjoy the step change improvement in the viewing experience. For that, we need delivery standards — and luckily for us, there are a number of them (that’s the great thing about standards — there are so many to choose from!).
