Sony Introduces New Camera Control Unit

Sony has introduced its new camera control unit, the HDCU-3100. The 1.5U size of the compact fibre camera control unit brings IP capabilities to Sony's system cameras, from the flagship 4K HDC-4300 with BPU-4000 series, including the new BPU-4500A, through to the HDC-2000 series and HSC fibre system cameras.

     
     
 
Regular DAB+ Broadcasts Begin in Vienna

The first regular broadcasts of DAB + have started in the Vienna, Austria region. Twelve radio stations can be received on the channel 11C multiplex. Many of these are not available on the FM band, according to radio.nl.

     
     
 
Spain-based Tilt outfits its mobile production unit with a Calrec Artemis console

Madrid-based Tilt, a bespoke audio and video broadcast service provider, is reaping the benefits of a 48-fader Artemis Light console from Calrec for its UM003HD mobile production unit. NEP UK unveils 2110-compliant broadcast vehicles

NEP UK has announced its two newest OB vehicles have been built to be compliant with SMPTE 2110 standard. Both of the vehicles, named Venus and Ceres, have been built with Grass Valley (formerly SAM) IQ UCP 25GbE Gateway cards, which provide two-way links between the the IP-based equipment and the existing baseband technology that is still needed to accommodate clients using SDI feeds. The trucks can also offer dual level UHD and HDI-SDI simultaneously.

Bluebell Opticom Ltd has been awarded an Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) for its SDI-over-fibre technology, at the 69th annual ceremony. The 69th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards ceremony took place in Las Vegas during the 2018 NAB Show in April, where Bluebell managing director Paul Felix McCann accepted the award.
