Calrec offers Remote Production with Zero Latency

At the 2016 NAB Show, Calrec Audio unveiled RP1, a remote production engine that directly addresses an increasingly prevalent requirement for high-quality content from remote locations. Remote production offers the ability to capture a broader range of live events, such as sports, news, or regional music festivals. Broadcasters cannot always justify the time or expense of sending a dedicated outside broadcast truck and a team of skilled on-site operators for these niche events, but they must always ensure that the same high broadcast standards are met.

TVU Networks, the global technology leader in live IP video solutions, today announced the availability of TVU RPS (Remote Production System), a new, cost-effective alternative solution for live, remote, multi-camera news and sports coverage. Traditionally, major broadcast and sporting events are produced using on-site production trucks and a large number of production crews at the location. However, a mobile production truck with full crew and dedicated transmission equipment can be an expensive and complex proposition. That changes with the official launch of TVU RPS.

Sachtler has upgraded their popular Video 18 fluid tripod head. The new Video 18 S2 can now handle a greater load bearing capacity of up to 20 kg, which is 4 kg more than the current Video 18 S1. This also brings it much closer in load bearing to the larger Video 20 S1 (that can take a load up to 25 kgs), but without having the larger head size. Sachtler claims that with this improvement, the Video 18 S2 is now the only head in its class that can operate at -40 to +60 degrees centigrade without any impact on its smooth operation.
