Panasonic announced that at the end of September it will begin shipping the AJ-PX380 1/3-inch 2.2M 3MOS AVC-ULTRA shoulder-mount camcorder, which offers powerful IT/wireless connectivity capabilities and dual codec recording for simultaneous high resolution and proxy image capture. The new shoulder-mount camcorder will be available in two versions: the AJ-PX380GF including camera body plus AG-CVF15 Color Viewfinder and XT17x4.5 BRM 17X Fujinon lens; and the AJ-PX380G-camera-body only.

Dalet Digital Media Systems has come off the bench to support digital media company Perform and the expansion of its global sports operations. Adding news scripting, production and distribution capabilities from Dalet, Perform is able to increase multimedia content output across its international bases.

Following the launch of Calrec's Hydra2 interface card at the 2015 NAB Show, where it was introduced as part of DiGiCo's Orange Box development, Calrec announces that the technology has been adopted in third-party products from elsewhere in the broadcast community. Both Evertz and TSL Products unveiled the Hydra2 interface cards at IBC2015.

LYNX Technik AG, provider of modular interfaces, announces the introduction of a new SDI Quad-Split yellobrik at IBC 2015. The new Quad-Split yellobrik (model: PMV 1841) is a compact, portable quad-split processor that supports the display of 4x 3G/HD/SDI-SDI inputs on a single HDMI display. In addition to its quad-split capabilities, this new unit includes an integrated 4K down converter, for applications that require 4K (12G, quad-link) HDMI monitoring.

Sony has just announced the PXW-FS5, a new 4K cinema camera that will slot in between the FS7 and the FS700.

Wenzhou TV, the Chinese regional broadcaster, has purchased a complete production infrastructure, conversion and switching solution from Snell as part of its upgrade to full HD production from studio to screen. The equipment was supplied via Snell’s regional partner, Beijing Xingguang Sanitec Science & Technology Co., Ltd.

At BIRTV in Beijing, Dutch accessory maker Vocas were showed a prototype of their new 6×6 filter stage matte box. It features built in ‘eye brows’ for controlling flare and reducing the need to use a top or side flags for some uses.

Video delivery infrastructure provider Harmonic and satellite service provider Intelsat have announced they are partnering on the launch of HVN Intelsat UHD, a linear UHD demonstration channel for the North American TV markets. Broadcasted via Intelsat’s Galaxy 13 satellite, the new channel will provide multichannel video programming distributors with an opportunity to test UHD transmissions as soon as they downlink content from the Galaxy 13 through their networks and into subscribers’ homes; U.S. cable programmers will also be able to conduct tests of their own of UHD content.

The group formerly known as Quantel and Snell has officially announced that it has formed a new company under the banner of Snell Advanced Media. The announcement was made at IBC 2015.

At IBC 2015 Dutch manufacturer Vocas announced new wooden handle with Lanc control and a prototype of self-adjusting double follow focus.
